Assesses the levels of different neurotransmitters in urine. The profile of neurotransmitters reflects the activity, both in the brain and in the peripheral nervous system. The interaction between the dopaminergic, serotonergic, catecholaminergic and noradrenergic pathways influences the personality and behavior of people. The disturbances of these different axes can produce behavioral disorders and favor the development of certain neurological and psychiatric conditions. It includes a quantification of neurotransmitters and their metabolites, which make up the different neurotransmission axes:
  • Dopaminergic axis: dopamine and its metabolites: homovanillic acid and Dopac acid.
  • Serotonergic axis: serotonin and its metabolite: indoleacetic acid.
  • Adrenergic axis: vanillylmandelic acid.
  • Noradrenergic axis: methoxyhydroxyphenylglycol.

It helps to understand certain behavioral disorders and provides information to decide on therapeutic treatment.
