Melatonin curve, Echevarne

Melatonin concentration test in saliva. Chronobiotic study whose purpose is to evaluate the circadian rhythm of melatonin to identify states of chronodisruption. The chronodisruption it is a state of desynchronization of different biological rhythms such as the wake/sleep rhythm or the activity/rest rhythm. The chronodisruption is associated with an increased risk of developing certain diseases or worsening of pre-existing conditions. This clinical analysis test measures the concentration of melatonin in saliva at different times of the day (circadian phenotype) and compares it with the person's chronotype, established with different questionnaires to determine the amplitude and phase of the rhythm. QUESTIONNAIRES Horne and Ostberg Questionnaire: Evaluate the chronotype. PSQI Questionnaire: Assess sleep quality. Epworth Test: Evaluates degree of sleepiness. Sleep diary. MELATONIN CURVE Study the lag of the melatonin curve with respect to the person's chronotype (morning, intermediate or evening). A detailed report of the circadian phenotype is generated. Personalized therapeutic guideline is provided in order to synchronize the patient's biological clock.

Resynchronizing the biological clock with exogenous melatonin improves sleep quality and latency by adjusting its phase. It also has beneficial effects on the evolution of various metabolic and inflammatory diseases, fibromyalgia, Parkinson's, etc.
