Testimony of Transcranial Direct Stimulation Therapy at home (TdCD) for Autism.
I wanted to comment on the advances we have seen in this second round of direct transcranial stimulation with my 8-year-old daughter diagnosed with ASD, with an ATEC of 35.
We have done 24 sessions in this batch, 2 sessions per week, previously we had done another 24 sessions.
The main changes we have noticed are, a increased ability to focus on tasks school has started do addition and subtraction and practice writing (until this year she was not able to do this kind of tasks, she got nervous and refused).
His teachers and therapists have told us that he is beginning to work independently, this was something quite unimaginable before, without adult supervision he was not able to work.
At the language level we are seeing more spontaneous language, more vocabulary (until now she had a functional vocabulary, that is, if she was hungry she told you -eat-, now she says -eat bread-
It is seen that he knows more what he wants and makes it known. To give a few more examples, before he asked for -yogurt-, now he says -I want to eat pink yogurt-. He begins to ask for things for her. For example, when I am preparing breakfast, she and I have the same breakfast. If he sees a plate, he tells me, pointing to the plate: -Maria-, meaning that this plate (with breakfast) is for her. Another thing we have noticed is that he describes what is going on around him more, if he is in the kitchen, he begins to list what he sees. If I am preparing the food, he tells me pointing to each item -carrot, rice, tomato...-
One of the things we were told about the difference between the current mapping and the previous one is the GREAT SYNAPTIC PRUNING there has been. In other words, it has managed to reduce all those synaptic connections that are not useful and that children already make when they grow up. This pruning is vital for the normal functioning of the brain since by reducing the quantity, the quality of these connections has increased. In the image you can see 3 clear bridges, an image much more similar to a normal child's brain, (the middle bridge still has to increase its connections and will be treated in the next round of stimulation).
In the images of connectome, it is also appreciated that the connectivity of the brain has increased considerably, especially in areas where there were no connections before.
We are going to do another round of stimulation where we hope that the things that are missing will be corrected and my daughter will gain more and more.
Thanks to Dr. Moisés Aguilar's team, we can do transcranial electrical stimulation therapy at home with a portable stimulator under the supervision of his team, avoiding having to go to centers and above all avoiding having to pay a fortune for sessions.
